Working atmosphere and creativity in science: How professors and research assistants see their teams
Subject
Innovations in business and science contribute to Germany's competitiveness. Research at universities and non-university research institutions makes a key contribution to securing innovation potential. One open question is whether characteristics of the working climate and work organisation at universities can influence the creativity of research groups. This project therefore focuses on the question of how researchers at universities assess their creativity and whether characteristics of the working climate and work organisation influence creativity.
Research questions
- How do senior researchers (professors, research group leaders) and academic staff assess the creativity of their ideas and activities? Do these assessments vary by subject group?
- How do senior researchers and academic staff describe the working atmosphere and the organisation of their collaboration within their colleagues or research groups? Are there significant subject differences in these characteristics?
- What correlations exist between characteristics of working climate and organisation and the creativity of research groups?
